MOWING

Residential landscape mowing involves cutting grass in home yards to maintain a neat, healthy lawn. It typically includes:

• Equipment: Push or riding lawnmowers, string trimmers for edges, and blowers for cleanup. Blade height is adjusted based on grass type and season (e.g., 2-3 inches for cool-season grasses like fescue).

• Techniques: Mowing in alternating patterns (e.g., horizontal, vertical, or diagonal) to prevent ruts and promote even growth. Grass is cut no more than one-third of its height per session to avoid stress.

• Frequency: Weekly or biweekly, depending on grass growth, weather, and season (more frequent in spring, less in drought or winter).

• Additional Tasks: Edging along sidewalks, driveways, and flower beds; trimming around trees and obstacles; and removing clippings or mulching them into the lawn.
